Kelly’s daughter Karen joins us again for a show with services, games, and songs… but mostly Hip-Hopera!
Mel’s Recommendation:
Website: Fiverr.com
- a Global Online Marketplace where you can hire a freelancer to help you with most any digital product you need.
- Each “Gig” starts out at $5, hence the name.
- Mel finds it particularly useful for Graphic Design stuff, but the list is pretty limitless of what you can find.
Karen’s Recommendation:
Game: Costume Quest 1 & 2
- a #SuperCute game where your character uses abilities gained from their Halloween Costume to defeat some evil candy-stealing monsters.
- It’s by the cool folks over at Double Fine who also made Stacking.
- Costume Quest is available on PC, Playstation and Xbox, and Wii so you really don’t have an excuse not to check it out.
Musical: Hamilton
- A Hip-Hopera tale about Alexander Hamilton. If he sounds familiar, it’s because he was a Founding Father.
- Lin-Manuel Miranda created it based on the biography, ‘Alexander Hamilton’ by Ron Chernow.
- There are Rap Battles between Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson…
- The Soundtrack is available pretty much everywhere, including Amazon Prime 😉
Kelly’s Recommendation:
Music: Sail Away by Randy Newman
- a 1972 album by Randy Newman featuring a mix of varying political messages, burning rivers, and even a dancing bear.
- Many of these songs were actually covered by other artists.
- You can find most of these on YouTube and Spotify.
- Kelly is a huge fan of Randy and recommends this as your “starter album” if you are just trying him out.
